Whiz Kids at Madison
6-8pm | Monday Nights | Madison Elementary
On Monday evenings there is a ministry opportunity for K-5th grade students who attend Madison Elementary School to participate in a program called “Whiz Kids at Madison”. It is a program that is coordinated by Pastor Philip Herman with the help and assistance of volunteers from several local churches and students from Grand View University.
Precious Beginnings
Children's Center
This center is a brand new DHS licensed and United Way sponsored agency on the north side of Des Moines in the Highland Park neighborhood. In June 2019, the center opened five classrooms of infant, toddler, and 2 year olds. Ages of the classrooms will be 2 ½ to 3-year-olds, 3 to 4-year-olds, and 4 to 5-year-olds. This center will be focused on getting all students to be Kindergarten ready by their completion of this program.
Summer Adventure Camp
July & August 2023| Highland Park Community Church
Summer Adventure Camp gives kids kindergarten through 5th grade a safe place to learn, play, create, and explore for 3-6 weeks in the summer. Each day, camp attendees will eat lunch together, enjoy recess at the park, participate in arts & crafts time, reading time, game time, and visit a local pool once a week
Middle School STEM Adventures
July & August 2023| Highland Park Community Church
This year, a number of Middle School students will learn valuable STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) skills and take related field trips over the course of 6 weeks in July and August. They will also attend 6 church services on Sunday mornings as part of the program.
