Whiz Kids at Madison

6-8pm | Monday Nights | Madison Elementary

On Monday evenings there is a ministry opportunity for K-5th grade students who attend Madison Elementary School to participate in a program called “Whiz Kids at Madison”.  It is a program that is coordinated by Pastor Philip Herman with the help and assistance of volunteers from several local churches and students from Grand View University.

Got Thirst

3:35-4pm | Tuesday Afternoons | North High School Cafeteria

Jesus says, “Come to me all you who hunger and thirst for righteousness”.  Are you thirsty for the things of God, then come to Got Thirst every Tuesday right after school?  We meet in the North High School cafe for a 10 minute devotional from the Bible about God’s character, who He is, and what He wants for our lives today.  Come for the first part, then stick around for some pizza and pop afterwards. This is a student led initiative with school staff, pastors, and youth leaders from Grace Church, Highland Park Community Church, Union Park Baptist Church, and Walnut Creek Church assisting.

Wonders on Wednesdays (WOW)

2:10-4pm | Wednesdays | Faith Missionary Baptist Church

So you attend Harding Middle School and don’t know where to go on early out Wednesdays after school. Now every Wednesday from 2:10-4 PM go directly across the street from the school to Faith Missionary Baptist Church for the WOW program.  From 1:10-1:45 play pinball, driving machines, carpetball, air hockey, foosball, pool, classic arcade games, Wii, or challenge others in board games during game time.  From 1:45-2 we study the Bible together and from 2-2:15 we eat food.  The last part of the time is spent on STEAM activities, which allow young people to be creative and learn about science, technology, electronics, art, and math.
